Bandana, the must have this spring!

Hedi Slimane knows a thing or two about how to get a look trending, which is part of the reason his tenure at Saint Laurent has been such a success. Since spring 2014, he marches his androgynous dudes down the runway styled with bandanas, the accessorie became popular and this year bandana became a must be in all closets.
Here a few ways to style your outfit with bandanas.

Wear your bandana like a headband.
The tails of the bandana can be worn on the top of your head like a bow, or hidden at the nape of the neck.Lay the bandana flat on a table so it looks like a diamond. Fold the bottom corner of the diamond up to the top corner to make a large triangle. Take the top corner of the triangle and fold it down to meet the base of the triangle. Fold in half length-wise, and repeat until the bandana forms a band that is approximately 1½" wide. Holding the band firmly, tie the bandana around your head. Secure the two ends by tying a bow or a square knot. Position the bow or knot as you wish.

Try a 50's-style Ponytail.
A simple ponytail only benefits from a fun color kick. Try this look with both large and small bandanas for a play on proportion. Lay your bandana on a table. Gather the bandana material towards the center of the square and hold the gathered bandana in one hand. Make a single loop in the center of your bandana and slip the loop over your ponytail.Pull the loop closed tight on the ponytail. To secure the bandana firmly, you may tie another knot.

Channel Rosie the Riveter.
The only bit of hair that shows in this vintage-inspired 'do is the front at the crown. You can either make a pouf by teasing the hair at the crown for volume, or style simple, sleek bangs.Fold your bandana in half, making a large triangle. Drape the triangle over your shoulders like a cape. Bring the two corners over your ears, but behind your bangs or pouf. Pull the center point of the triangle under the ends.Tie a knot at the top and secure the bandana with bobby pins at the ears. Use hairspray to lock your style in place.

Try a 70's headband.
Let your inner-hippie/music-festival-goer fly with a classic twist on the traditional headband.Fold your bandana in half diagonally. Take the tip of the triangle to the base. Fold it over lengthwise once more. Roll or fold your bandana until it is between 1-3" wide. Place the center of the bandana at the center of your forehead. Take the two loose ends and tie them behind your head. Make sure your hair falls underneath the bandana.
